If I remember my history correct, this obsession started in the early 1980's in the Olympia film theatre (deceased in 1986) in Tampere, in the screening of Kuningas, jolla ei ollut sydäntä ("The King Who Didn't Have a Heart", 1982), during the SCARY closeup of the bad king (Kari Franck). Why was the camera teasing me with concentrating on a big dark mole on his cheek? That question drownind deeply into the 5-year old mind, didn't have the guts to watch the rest of the - promisingly fascinating - film. So there I just sat surreally in the dark, keeping my eyes closed without a slicest idea how my subconscious would drive these eyes into that same situation many many times again to open them for this damn secret of the moving image - and the mysterious mole of the heartless king.
